Fall
Hi everyone! It’s been a long time again. I’ve been doing okay, how are you?
Since my last post, I haven’t exactly focused a lot on my singing goals to be quite honest, but I’ve been productive on other things. I guess my priorities have changed right now, or this season of my life is a bit different.
However, I’ll share three things that I’ve been pretty happy about.
I went to a few concerts! Yeah, I know, it’s nothing crazy, but ever since the pandemic, I haven’t been to a concert. At least until this year. The whole concert scene, hearing, and seeing performances live is always fun. My first concert this year was Wallows in July, but recently I went to Lady Gaga’s and Lil Nas X’s concerts. They came to Houston too, so I had to go and couldn’t miss it. 😄 The concerts were all amazing, and I always would get the post-concert depression where I go on YouTube the next morning and find their concert to rewatch it again.
Going to Lady Gaga’s concert was a dream come true because I grew up listening to her. Some day, I’ll see all of them again, for sure.
I’ve been trying a new workout program: Couch to 5K. Honestly…my cardio health needs some work. I went for a run earlier this year and… it was rough. Growing up, I was never into sports or athletics, but I am making up for that by working out more. I’m a slow runner and I tend to run out of breath, so I want to improve on running, and just be overall healthier.
My friend recommended that I should try the Couch to 5K program to train in running, and it has been great. I downloaded a Couch to 5K app on my phone, and I use it as a timer for my runs on the treadmill. I’m on Week 6 of the program, and I noticed it’s getting harder as the jogging session is much longer now. But I can feel my improvement since you would not see me running for more than 5 minutes months ago.
I haven’t signed up for a 5K yet, but I’d love to do it when I’m finished! I recommend this program for beginner runners as well! Don’t worry - you and I will get there. 💪
I had a lot of audition opportunities throughout this year, and for the first time in a while, I got a callback! I can’t say the details of my audition, but it was for a lead role in a short film and the script was in Vietnamese. I have never done an audition in Vietnamese, so it was all new and challenging for me. My Vietnamese is conversational, and my mom was more than happy to help me with it. I felt honored to have the opportunity to audition because the story felt personal to my family and background - it was an American immigrant story.
Telling personal stories is the main reason I love acting. I didn’t get the part, but there’s always next time!
I love writing my blogs, but I want to branch out by trying to write new content instead of just providing updates on my life, haha. But if you’re reading this, I appreciate you very, very much. I get joy whenever I click the “Publish” (or “Schedule”) button, so I’m thankful that you’re reading this.
It’s almost Halloween, and I’m going to California for the first time this weekend, so it’s going to be great. Time is moving too fast, but at least the holiday season is almost here.
Stay warm in this upcoming winter. Until then, thanks for reading. 🥰
